
Search for: A skirt that gradually flares out within an A formation from the natural midsection to the ground, highlighting the narrowness of the midsection and floating away from the thighs and sides. (Sturdier fabrics, such as duchesse satin and taffeta, are effective especially, since they won't cling.) A spaghetti-strap bodice or a V neckline will showcase a more slim upper body also.

Keep in mind: A classic A-line silhouette lends itself to formal wedding ceremonies, but it can be dressed down when made from a more informal fabric also, like eyelet lace or raw-silk shantung.
