
Search for: A skirt that slowly but surely flares out in an A creation from the natural midsection to the ground, highlighting the narrowness of the midsection and floating from the thighs and sides. (Sturdier fabrics, such as duchesse satin and taffeta, are effective especially, given that they won't cling.) A spaghetti-strap bodice or a V neckline will also showcase a far more slender upper body.

Keep in mind: A classic A-line silhouette lends itself to formal marriages, but it can be dressed down when made from a more casual fabric, like eyelet raw-silk or ribbons shantung.
