
Search for: A skirt that gradually flares out within an A creation from the natural stomach to the ground, highlighting the narrowness of the midsection and floating away from the sides and thighs. (Sturdier fabrics, such as duchesse taffeta and satin, are especially effective, since they won't cling.) A spaghetti-strap bodice or a V neckline will showcase a more slim upper body also.

Keep in mind: A vintage A-line silhouette lends itself to formal wedding ceremonies, but it can be dressed down when made from a more casual fabric also, like eyelet raw-silk or lace shantung.
