
Look for: A skirt that gradually flares out within an A development from the natural midsection to the ground, highlighting the narrowness of the midsection and floating from the thighs and sides. (Sturdier fabrics, such as duchesse satin and taffeta, are effective especially, since they won't cling.) A spaghetti-strap bodice or a V neckline will also showcase a more slender chest muscles.

Remember: A vintage A-line silhouette lends itself to formal marriages, but it can be dressed down when made from a more everyday fabric also, like eyelet raw-silk or ribbons shantung.
