
Search for: A skirt that gradually flares out in an A formation from the natural midsection to the ground, highlighting the narrowness of the midsection and floating away from the thighs and hips. (Sturdier fabrics, such as duchesse taffeta and satin, are especially effective, since they won't cling.) A spaghetti-strap bodice or a V neckline will showcase a far more slender chest muscles also.

Remember: A vintage A-line silhouette lends itself to formal marriages, but it can be dressed down when made from a more informal fabric, like eyelet raw-silk or ribbons shantung.
