
Search for: A skirt that steadily flares out within an A creation from the natural midsection to the floor, highlighting the narrowness of the midsection and floating from the sides and thighs. (Sturdier fabrics, such as duchesse taffeta and satin, are especially effective, since they won't cling.) A spaghetti-strap bodice or a V neckline will showcase a more slim upper body also.

Keep in mind: A classic A-line silhouette lends itself to formal wedding ceremonies, but it can also be dressed down when made from a more informal fabric, like eyelet raw-silk or ribbons shantung.
