Look for: A skirt that little by little flares out in an A creation from the natural waist to the ground, highlighting the narrowness of the midsection and floating away from the sides and thighs. (Sturdier fabrics, such as duchesse taffeta and satin, are especially effective, given that they won't cling.) A spaghetti-strap bodice or a V neckline will showcase a more slender chest muscles also.
Remember: A classic A-line silhouette lends itself to formal marriages, but it can also be dressed down when made from a more informal fabric, like eyelet raw-silk or ribbons shantung.
