
Look for: A skirt that gradually flares out within an A creation from the natural waistline to the ground, highlighting the narrowness of the midsection and floating away from the thighs and hips. (Sturdier fabrics, such as duchesse taffeta and satin, are effective especially, given that they won't cling.) A spaghetti-strap bodice or a V neckline will also showcase a more slim chest muscles.

Remember: A vintage A-line silhouette lends itself to formal wedding ceremonies, but it can be dressed down when made from a more everyday fabric also, like eyelet ribbons or raw-silk shantung.
