
Search for: A skirt that little by little flares out within an A formation from the natural waist to the ground, highlighting the narrowness of the midsection and floating from the hips and thighs. (Sturdier fabrics, such as duchesse taffeta and satin, are especially effective, given that they won't cling.) A spaghetti-strap bodice or a V neckline will showcase a far more slender upper body also.

Remember: A classic A-line silhouette lends itself to formal wedding ceremonies, but it can be dressed down when made from a more informal fabric also, like eyelet lace or raw-silk shantung.
